Hello all! Here’s my latest cartoon for
:Among his use of the law to personally benefit himself and his allies, in his early days in office Trump has pardoned over 1,500 people who participated in January 6th, the largest prosecution in the history of the Justice Department.
Almost all of the rioters who were imprisoned in relation to the January 6 riots have been granted “a full, complete and unconditional pardon,” per a White House proclamation. Proud Boys leaders who had sentences of 18 and 22 years in prison were released after our justice system claimed they legally deserve decades in the slammer.
As a loved one said the other day as a way of encouraging me to avoid going after Trump too much in my work for the next little while: “guys who were supposed to be put away for 20 years for violence against their political opponents are now out and free and looking to defend their leader.” It’s true, and the Q-Anon Shaman has directly said as much.
I don’t think that I do anything important enough to warrant changing what I do out of safety concerns. But it goes without saying how frightening it is that that’s a thought I’m having.
I might get a P.O. box, though.
I realized about two hours into drawing this one that I was subconsciously visually referencing a scene from an episode of Garfield and Friends. And of course I’m always subconsciously referencing Chuck Jones.
More soon! I have a cartoon published for Counterpoint a few weeks ago that I realized I forgot to post here. Many of you may have seen it elsewhere, though, given it was covering Ann Telnaes.
They can go fuck themselves.
