See my new political cartoon for Counterpoint!
My first cartoon in two years... we're off to the races!
I am thrilled to now be a cartoonist with Counterpoint Licensing and Syndication, which also happens to operate here on Substack! My first cartoon was published through Counterpoint’s newsletter this morning. I’m now a syndicated cartoonist! (I’ve wanted to share that title with Jim Davis since I was six. I’m elated.)
I will be publishing with Counterpoint twice monthly, and can publish my cartoons here after Counterpoint publishes them, which I will be doing. Subscribe to Counterpoint to support me and other cartoonists!
Here is my first cartoon for Counterpoint:
My accompanying blurb:
“From Axios to Stephen Colbert, political media has dubbed the June 27th presidential debate the “meme debate” because of the quantity of people who will consume it through online content—from TikToks to memes—even created by the campaigns themselves. While it’s unfortunate that the political media ecosystem operates this way, it’s on voters, especially the enthusiastic and politically engaged, to actually educate themselves by means beyond the instant-gratification variety.”
I drew this before the debate, and it’s so much more chaotic than I expected. This is certainly a time to be jumping back into political cartooning.
